Meet The Staff
With a highly experienced staff we are able to give children and parents a fun and professional atmosphere. Our staff continues their dance education through different convention circuits to be able to bring children the highest quality dance education.
Megan Bodsford
Owner, Artistic & Competition Director
Megan began training at the Palm Beach Ballet Center in West Palm Beach, FL at the age of 6. Her extensive training included Ballet/Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Musical Theater and Acrobatics. At age 11 she performed with the professional company, Ballet Florida, in their annual Nutcracker. The following year she was accepted into the Palm Beach County School of the Arts, currently renamed Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, where she became the subject of a 1992 televised documentary on dance education. In 1995 her dance training brought her to North Carolina where she attended North Carolina School of the Arts majoring in Ballet. While at UNCSA she trained with Melissa Hayden, Fanchon Cordell, Melinda Lawrence, Warren Conover and Susan McCullough among others. Some of her roles include, Swan Lake, Coppelia, La Bayadere and Giselle to name a few. Her summers were spent training with Houston Ballet, Nashville Ballet, Boston Ballet and other professional companies. After Graduating UNCSA she toured schools around North Carolina educating children on the art of dance. Megan began teaching in 1999 and found her true passion. Many dancers that have trained under Megan now dance professionally in LA, New York or on college dance teams. Her positive teaching style and love of children helps her students become successful in all aspects of life.
Mallory Trivette
Assistant Director & Instructor
Mallory began dancing at TDS at the age of 3 and continued dancing at the studio until she was 19. Her love of dance turned into her life-long career. She loves teaching her preschoolers all the way to her graduating seniors. Mallory currently teaches the Starling, shooting star, shining star & Mega star company members as well as all ages of the recital program. She continues to train within different convention circuits to be able to bring your child the most current dance education. She is the seamstress for our competition company. She loves staying busy as a wife, mom and multi-tasker.
Katie Aaron
Instructor
Katie grew up in Trinity, NC where she was part of the Trinity High School Varsity cheerleading squad. She loved cheerleading and gymnastics and has been an acro teacher since her high school years. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in Elementary education. She is currently pursuing a masters degree in Teacher Education with a concentration in Elementary Mathmatics. Katie is an elementary mathematics teacher and hopes to pursue a career in Elementary administration in the future.
Keynisha Graves
Instructor
Keynisha Graves has been dancing since the age of three and trained with several studios, including Gainesville Dance Center and Greensboro Dance Theater. In addition to attending The School of the Arts Summer Intensive in middle school, she attended many dance conventions and took classes with several professional choreographers including Nick Lazzarini, Mia Michaels, and Alex Wong. Keynisha did competitive dance for over ten years. While attending Appalachian State University to receive a Bachelors of Arts in Dance Studies, she specialized in Contemporary, Jazz, Tap and Hip-Hop styles. She served as President of Entropy Dance Crew (ASU’s resident Hip-Hop Club), and was a member for four years. She choreographed and danced for the Fall Appalachian Dance Ensemble, the Spring Appalachian Dance Ensemble, and the Momentum showcase. While at Appalachian, she also taught Contemporary classes for Momentum and guest taught Hip-Hop classes for the ASU Dance Department’s Style and Form Courses. She has danced in the work of the late Jan Van Dyke, and has been a KODACHROME and North Carolina Diggs Deeper representative. Nisha has a passion for teaching and youth, and started her own dance program at the age of sixteen at the Ragsdale YMCA. Keynisha was selected to bring some of her choreography to the American College Dance Festival Association in West Virginia in her final year at Appalachian State. While obtaining her bachelor's degree, Keynisha also taught dance at SG Ballet in Boone NC.
Laura Bowers Cinelli
Instructor
Laura graduated from the University of North Carolina Charlotte cum laude with a B.A. in Dance. While at UNCC she danced on the Charlotte 49ers Gold Dusters dance team. After graduating Laura moved to New York where she danced in several companies including RAW Artists, Mary Seidman and Dancers, Kaleidoscope Dance Theatre, Valleto Dance Company and many more. Laura has teaching experience along the east coast and is also a full time convention, whole sale and team wear manager for Jo + Jax dance wear. We are so glad to have Laura share her love for contemporary .
Chelsey Buffkin
Instructor
Chelsey began dancing at TDS at the age of 3 and continued dancing until the age of 19. At the age of 7 she joined the competition team and competed for 12 years in various genres of dance, during this time she also assisted other faculty members at TDS. During her high school years, Chelsey worked in childcare where she worked with all ages of kids for 4 years. Chelsey returned to teach her own class at TDS her junior year of college. She is currently a student at GTCC, working to get her major in Physical Therapy.
